Dr. Mark J. Davis, Ph.D

I am a digital literacy teacher at Barrington Middle School, Barrington, Rhode Island. I have 18 years of teaching experience as a reading specialist, District Literacy Coordinator, Assessment Coordinator, and Intervention Coordinator. I completed my undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and stayed on to complete a Master of Education in Reading. During this time, I worked at the Martha Gesling Weber Reading Center as a clinician and graduate assistant to the Dean of the College of Education and Human Development at BGSU. I completed my Ph.D in Education and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Literacy from University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College.

In 2003, I was recognized for an Outstanding Graduate Proposal by the American Reading Forum and was a member of the ASCD Emerging Leaders Class of 2009.

I continue to present at national conferences including those sponsored by the ASCD, International Literacy Association, Learning Forward, Learning First Alliance, American Reading Forum, and numerous regional workshops.

I am focus on teaching and learning with technology, information and data visualization, graphic design, and multimedia integration.
